Military Standards for Drop Protection

Anyone who has dropped and broken an expensive piece of equipment knows just how terrible that moment of impact is. Even without looking, they know that something terrible has happened. Protection fragile, vulnerable, and expensive equipment can help save your time, money, and stress.

Most individual carry their smartphones inside expensive cases because they recognize that one wrong drop can break the phone. We all know how expensive smartphones these days are. When looking for cases that offer the best protection, it is common for people to look for a specific marking on a package or a website: MIL-STD-810.

MIL-STD-810, also known as Environmental Engineering Considerations and Laboratory Tests, is a U.S. Military standard the ensures devices soldiers use will work in war like conditions. Although created in 1945 for military use, it has since found wide application in ruggedized consumer products.

MIL-STD-810 requires rigorous and intense testing to ensure that products and parts work to the highest of standards. For our cases, the standard test looks at drops and shock. We drop our cases from various heights to make sure they do not break or crack. Once in the field, the products must be able to work consistently. Our custom cases are tested to meet these high standards. Our blow molded cases are amongst the strongest on the market.
